Borenius Continues Working with Its Long-Term Pro Bono Partners

In 2026, Borenius continues its long-term pro bono partnerships with organisations dedicated to improving opportunities for children, young people, and underrepresented groups in Finnish society. Based on our values, Borenius remains committed to creating a positive societal impact through long-term pro bono partnerships that promote inclusion, equality, and access to opportunities. Through legal expertise, mentoring, and strategic support, we aim to contribute to a more equitable future for the next generation.

Our pro bono partners

Finnish Paralympic Committee

We continue to serve as the main partner of the Finnish Paralympic Committee. Our collaboration, which began in 2013, is set to continue through the Milano-Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, reflecting a 15-year commitment. The partnership is rooted in shared values of equality and inclusion, and our support contributes to creating opportunities for athletes and promoting a society where everyone’s potential is recognised and valued.

Helsinki Pride

Our cooperation with the Helsinki Pride Community continues through our role as a Working with Pride partner. As one of the community’s legal advisors, we provide legal support that advances equality, non-discrimination, and the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community, including children, young people, and their families.

Icehearts

We maintain our partnership with Icehearts, an early-intervention model offering long-term support to children at risk of social exclusion. By backing this 12-year commitment model, we contribute to efforts that promote wellbeing, stability, and positive development throughout childhood and adolescence.

Young Office

Through Young Office, we foster connections between young people and working life. This programme offers diverse lower secondary school students’ valuable exposure to professional life, strengthening their understanding of future career opportunities and working life skills. During 2025, we hosted five 13–15-year-olds, providing them with practical experience of what it is to work at a law firm.

Oikismentorointi ry

Our cooperation with Oikismentorointiohjelma ry supports secondary school students from diverse backgrounds. Each year, a few of our lawyers participate as mentors, offering help and encouragement to apply to law school. This promotes diversity within the legal profession by supporting equal access to legal education.

JA Yrityskylä

We support JA’s Yrityskylä, which is a Finnish learning module that has received an award as the best education innovation in the world. It provides 6th and 9th graders with positive experiences of working life, the economy, entrepreneurship, and society. In 2025, ten of our employees participated in an Yrityskylä day as tutors for 6th graders.

Vamos

As a new collaboration in 2026, Borenius is involved in the Vamos programme run by the Deaconess Foundation, where we support young people in developing interpersonal skills and managing everyday life in different life situations. Vamos helps young people who are outside education and working life across Finland.

Pro bono

Long-term partnerships creating lasting value for future generations

Our pro bono partnerships remain an essential part of Borenius’ ESG work and broader societal impact. By working closely with organisations that focus on youth, children, and inclusion, we aim to create meaningful, long-term change. We are proud to continue these collaborations and to support initiatives that help individuals access opportunities and build confidence in their future.
