Borenius Appoints New Chair
Borenius has appointed Niina Nuottimäki as its new Chair of the Board, effective 1 May 2026. She succeeds Samuli Simojoki, whose six-year term as Chair has concluded.
Niina currently co-leads Borenius’ Banking & Finance practice and has been with the firm for over 20 years. During her career, she also gained valuable in-house experience at Nordea before returning to Borenius, where she was appointed partner in 2016. Niina is widely recognised as one of Finland’s leading banking and finance lawyers and is highly regarded by colleagues for her dynamic and forward-looking approach to developing the firm.
Samuli will continue in his role as partner, advising clients with a particular focus on venture capital and technology sectors. He is well known as a trusted adviser to many of the firm’s clients.
“I am sincerely grateful for the trust from the partnership. It is a privilege to take on this role at such an exciting time for the firm and for the legal industry. I would also like to thank Samuli for the strong foundation he has built, and I look forward to working closely with Johan Roman and the entire Borenius team to continue developing the firm and supporting our clients,” says Niina.
“We are very pleased to see Niina take on this role. I have had the pleasure of working closely with her over the years, and I am really looking forward to continuing that collaboration in her new capacity,” says Johan Roman, Managing Partner.
