Borenius advises on the sale of a prime Helsinki Airport logistics asset to Deka Immobilien

We acted as the seller’s legal advisor on the divestment of a prime logistics asset located in Aviapolis, next to Helsinki Airport.

The buyer, Deka Immobilien, has acquired the property for its open-ended real estate fund Deka-ImmobilienEuropa. The seller is an institutional investor.

The property was completed in 2022 and has a total lettable area of 33,000 sq m and 167 parking spaces of which 24 spaces are equipped with EV charging stations. The property is fully let on a long-term basis to one of Finland’s leading 3PL operators, Barona Varastopalvelut Oy.

Aviapolis is Finland’s leading logistics hub. It benefits from its position next to Helsinki Airport and its connections to Ring Road III and the national motorway network. Around one third of Finland’s population lives within an hour’s drive. Numerous Finnish and international logistics and distribution companies operate in the area.

The property has been designed to the highest sustainability standards with a BREEAM Excellent certification, EPC rating of A, geothermal heating and solar PV panels on the roof.
