Borenius advised Agnico Eagle on major consolidation through a set of three gold deals on properties in Finland

We advised Agnico Eagle Mines Limited in a landmark consolidation of properties in Finland’s Central Lapland Greenstone Belt, structured across three simultaneous transactions: a public take-over of Rupert Resources Ltd., a public take-over of Aurion Resources Ltd., and the acquisition of B2Gold Corp.’s 70% interest in Fingold Ventures Ltd.

Together, the transactions give Agnico Eagle full ownership of a circa 2,492 km² regional land position, including the Ikkari gold project, with potential to build an approximately 500,000-ounce annual gold production hub in Northern Finland. Agnico Eagle is the world’s second largest gold producer, listed on the NYSE and TSX, and operates Europe’s largest gold mine in Kittilä, Finland.

Borenius acted as legal counsel alongside Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP.
